How does Bub & Bloom Work?

The Bub & Bloom programme has been developed over the last 15 years. After teaching HypnoBirthing and then Calmbirth until 2018, the Bub & Bloom workshop has taken wings of it’s own and provides you with a carefully crafted birth education programme.  The Bub & Bloom class draws is foundation from the obstetrician Dr Grantly Dick Read ( 1889- 1959). Dick Read wrote the book Childbirth without fear and discovered that reduction in fear relates directly with a reduction in pain or pain perception. Whilst you cannot avoid all sources of stress in you life, we can develop healthier ways of responding to stress and fear. The first step is learning to breathe correctly. The second step is to be mindful and learn how to access your birthing zone through meditation and subconscious relaxation.

 

  • During Bub & Bloom classes you will both be taught how to evoke a 'parasympathetic response' by tapping into the subconscious resources
    we all naturally possess. This is not only for the birth of your baby, but for all life situations.
  • Classes also outline the physiology of your birthing body, emphasizing the role of the muscles, nervous system and hormones prior to, 
    during and after the birth of your baby.
  • Breathing techniques are also taught for their powerful effect on the body. You can utilize these skills very effectively during labour
    and birth, oxygenating the uterus, diminishing pain, inducing calm.
  • You will be able to bring back focus so that all situations can be met with calm insight and understanding.
  • In short, Bub & Bloom allows you to experience birth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear.
